Principal Greist

Hello Nichols Families,

We had another great week at Nichols!  Earlier in the week our hard-working teachers got to become students as they participated in Election Day PD.  New techniques and ideas were brought back to the classrooms this week to be put to the test with our students.

On Thursday, the Rotary Club came to meet with all of our 3rd and 5th graders to present them with their own thesaurus or dictionary.  Several students proudly displayed them as they passed in the hallway and showed off the longest word in the English language, American Sign Language, and other interesting findings.

Finally, on Friday we hosted several veterans to a hot lunch and assemblies in their honor.  Mrs. Celentano organized the event with help from several staff members.  Mr. Haddock and Mr. Ginicola were "shouted out" by the 6th graders and thanked for their service alongside our guests.  The veterans appreciated the event, leaving with full stomachs and warm hearts.

Please remember that all Stratford Public Schools are OPEN on Veterans Day, Tuesday November 11th.

I hope you have a great weekend and are able to spend time with your family.

-Mr. Greist

Student Showcase

Student Spotlight

Mrs. McNeil's 4th graders invited families, Nichols staff, and 3rd graders to come and see their research projects.

Each child chose a state to research.  Many new findings included famous people, interesting landmarks, flags, animals, and geographical locations.

Each student did an excellent job presenting their information and taking questions.  Thank you to Superintendent Borges for taking the time to visit the event!
